Veterans Services
Those who served our country deserve a farewell that honors that service. TraditionCare Funeral Services is privileged to care for veterans and their families across the Bay Area — coordinating military honors, securing the burial benefits earned through service, and standing with military families with the gratitude they deserve. If your loved one served, tell us early; we will make sure no honor and no benefit is overlooked.
Military Funeral Honors
Eligible veterans are entitled to military funeral honors at no cost to the family — the ceremonial folding and presentation of the United States flag and the sounding of Taps, rendered by uniformed members of their branch of service. We handle the request and scheduling with the military, verify eligibility through discharge papers, and weave the honors seamlessly into the service you've planned.
VA Burial Benefits & Paperwork
The VA provides meaningful benefits many families never claim: burial allowances, a government headstone or marker, a Presidential Memorial Certificate, and a burial flag. The paperwork can be daunting in a season of grief, so we prepare and file it with you — starting with locating the DD-214 discharge document. Surviving spouses and dependents may qualify for benefits as well.
National Cemetery Arrangements
Burial in a national cemetery — including the gravesite, opening and closing, perpetual care, and marker — is provided at no cost to eligible veterans. For Bay Area families, we regularly coordinate services at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in nearby Dixon, and we can arrange interment at other national and state veterans cemeteries as well. We schedule everything directly with the cemetery on your behalf.
