Our Family, Our Calling

"If you've found your way here, chances are you're facing one of life's most difficult moments. We want you to know that you don't have to walk through it alone. Welcome to our family."

- Eric and allison neiman

In 1998 TraditionCare was started by Eric Neiman to serve as an alternative to the increasing rise of funeral, burial and cremation cost in the San Francisco Bay area. Based in Contra Costa county, Eric's philosophy was to decrease the traditional overhead to open, run and operate a funeral home and utilize several smaller facilities to provide the same services at a more reasonable price without decreasing quality. Along with his wife, Allison, their family, and caring staff they have helped thousands of families do just that ever since.

We believe every family deserves to be treated as if they were our own because, when someone entrusts us with the care of a loved one, they become part of our family for that moment in time.

Funeral service is more than a profession to us. It is a calling. We understand that loss doesn't happen on a schedule, which is why we answer the phone at every hour of the day and night, ready to help when families need us most.

Our family has learned that serving others often means setting aside our own plans. Our children have grown up understanding that when a family calls in their greatest time of need, we answer. They have learned that funeral service is more than a career. It is a way of life.

Eric and Allison Neiman have dedicated more than 27 years to caring for families through some of life's most difficult moments. They have owned and operated a respected funeral home in the East Bay for more than two decades, and they embrace that work with gratitude, humility, and a deep commitment to the families they serve.

Eric entered funeral service after graduating from San Francisco State University and the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Allison joined Eric not only in life but also in funeral service. Together, they have built a family-centered approach to funeral care rooted in compassion, integrity, and personal service.

Outside of the funeral home, Eric and Allison are deeply committed to the communities they serve. Whether supporting local schools, coaching youth sports, serving through their church, or simply being neighbors and friends, they believe caring for a community extends far beyond the walls of a funeral home.

Eric also shares his passion for educating and encouraging others through his online platform, Eric the Undertaker. Through Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, he helps people better understand death, grief, and funeral service by answering questions, sharing stories, and encouraging meaningful conversations that bring comfort and hope. His mission is simple: to make conversations about death less intimidating and to help families discover the healing that comes through meaningful remembrance.

For us, funeral service has never simply been about caring for those who have died. It has always been about caring for the people who remain.

Every family has a story worth telling. Every life deserves to be remembered. Every goodbye should reflect a life well lived.

To us, this is more than a business. It is a calling to serve, a ministry of compassion, and a privilege we never take for granted. Whether helping a family plan ahead or walking beside them through an unexpected loss, our purpose remains the same: to provide exceptional care, genuine compassion, and lasting hope.

We are honored to walk alongside families in life's most difficult moments because we believe that even in the midst of grief, it is still possible to create extraordinary moments in ordinary days.
