Tom Silva

–

Pleasant Hill, California

Lowell Thomas Silva was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California. After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Travis Air Force Base, California, where he served as a jet engine airplane mechanic until his discharge in 1965. After a short employment with Dymo Industries in Emeryville, he spent the next 37 years working for Jim Dunlop at Dunlop Mfg. in Benicia. During that time, he also received his General Contractors License from the State of California.

Tom loved the outdoors. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, archery, water skiing, swimming, snorkeling, and gardening. Whatever was going on outdoors, he wanted to be part of it and he taught his children, as well as his grandchildren, to enjoy and respect the outdoors too.

Tom is preceded in death by his Father, Manuel Silva, and his Mother, Ella Silva. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Bridget and fiancee Steve Johnson; son Kevin and his wife Brenda; grandchildren Shae, Alyson, Emily, Brenden, Victoria, Briana, and Alexander; sisters Rose Greene, Lavinia Patton and husband Richard Patton, and Manuela Goodman, as well as many nieces and nephews.
