Steven "Steve" McDermott, Jr.

Resident of Antioch, CA

Steve passed away peacefully on Feb. 8, 2015. He fought a good fight after battling with cancer for the last two years. He was born in Greenbay, WI to Steven McDermott, Sr. and Carmen Cora Friesleben.

Steve was a devoted husband to his wife Maricris and a loving father to his son Sean, and Isaac whom he treated like his own son. He was a good brother to his only sister Terry (Leban). He also left behind many great friends, loving in-laws, niece and grand nieces.

Steve was a former United States Marine, and was a very proud Marine. He was also an E Clampus Vitus Chapter 13 Clamper. His ECV Clamper friends are his second family. What say the brother? "Satisfactory!"

Steve was also an outstanding carpenter both residential and commercial for more than 30 years. He was a very hard-working, knowledgeable and meticulous carpenter who takes pride in all the work that he did.

His family and friends will always be thankful and blessed for the gift that was his life. He was a jolly Irish who enjoyed the company of family and many loyal friends. He was loved and will be missed by many for always putting his family and others first before himself.

Steve's family are inviting friends and those whose life he touched to Steve's celebration of life on February 21, 2015 at 3:00 pm at VFW 815 Fulton Shipyard Rd., Antioch, CA 94509. Also, there will be and interment with military service on February 27, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA 95620.

In lieu of flowers, please help set a fund for the children, Sean (3 years old) and Isaac (14 years old). The McDermott family thank everyone for all their support, kind thoughts and prayers.
