Saraphina Texeira

–

Pleasant Hill, California

Resident of Danville Saraphina (?Sara?) went to join her predeceased husband, Herb (three and a half weeks ago) of 66 years on August 22, 2009. She was born in Oakland, California on February 22, 1917. Sara is survived by her devoted and adored daughters, Priscilla Buchman (Bob) and Marcella Miranda (Ken); her loving granddaughter, Jennifer Casas (Carlos); and cherished great-grandson, Joaquin; and long-term friends in the Bay Area and Northern California. She is also predeceased by her three siblings. Sara was an incredible wife, mother, daughter and sister who was devoted to her entire family; an excellent cook who could make a marvelous meal from anything; lover of dogs and cats; very artistic in sewing and making crafts with a local ladies group of many years; she could transplant a small part of any plant or flower into a large blooming garden; and she was very active with her predeceased husband in the fraternal organization of the Knights of Columbus for 30 years where they formed many long and lasting friendships. On reflection of her passing, we can only say (her favorite phrase), ?I?ll be darn!? She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Services were private and arranged through TraditionCare, Pleasant Hill. The family would appreciate gifts in Sara?s memory to the Hospice of the East Bay, 3470 Buskirk Avenue, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.
