Bob died on Monday evening, April 20, at his Concord home surrounded by family and close friends. For the past year, Bob battled a rare form of cancer until he had no more strength left to fight back. Bob was only 60 years old when he passed. Bob leaves behind his wife, Tammy, and his three children Ryan, Kyle and Kayla. When Bob was 13 years old, he emigrated with his large family from the Philippines to the United States. He had six brothers and one sister. He was uncle to eight nieces and nephews and great uncle to three. He had numerous close cousins both in the US and in the Philippines.
With death comes new life, and Bob was able to meet his first grandchild, Daxton Yared, a week before his passing. Bob was a master Volvo mechanic with 34 years' experience. He worked in San Francisco at Royal Motors and Volvo Centrum. He ended his career at Lawrence Volvo in Walnut Creek where he worked for several years. He loved to troubleshoot auto problems while playing a game of cards with his brothers, friends and family in the large kitchen on Fair Oaks Street in San Francisco where he grew up. Many people remember Fair Oaks as the gathering place for barbeques, wonderful Filipino food, constant laughter and of course, to play a game of cards. Bob will always be in our memory as we reach out to hold hands in a big circle of thanks for our many blessings of food, family, and friends. We cherish those that are with us and those that have passed before us.
