Richard Barrett

Richard Eugee Barrett June 13,1946-June 1,2011 Rick passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at the age of 64 after almost 3 years of battling lung cancer. Born in Oklahoma, Rick was preceded by his parents Tildon and Sara Barrett, his Mother-in-law Isabel Hern, Brother and Sister-in-law Mac and Sandra Barrett, Sister and Brother-in-law Ann and Frank Thompson, Sister Barbara Fitz and 2 nephews. He is survived by his Wife Pat, Daughter and Son-in-law Vikki and Joey Casaray, Son Robert Barrett, Grandsons Justin and Tony Casaray, Father-in-law Bob Hern, Brother and Sister-in-law Jim and Karen Barrett, Brother-in-law Rod Fitz, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Bob and Elinor Hern, Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law Bill and Joanne Hern, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and even great great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his 3 Helston Place daughters and his 4 Scout sons plus many beloved friends. Rick raised his family in Fremont for 32 years before moving to Oakley in 2003. While living in Fremont Rick enjoyed many year as a Scout Master, leaving the scouts after Bobby became an Eagle Scout. He also enjoyed bowling at Cloverleaf Bowl for years, he was in many men?s leagues and he and Pat bowled together for many years on Friday nights. Rick?s family and friends meant the world to him. He always had a joke to tell. He loved traveling, golf, reading, gambling, fishing and hunting. He was a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, and a devoted and cherished true friend to all. Rick spent 30+ years working in the fiberglass manufacturing industry, and then spent his last 4 years working for Oakridge Industries.
