Paul M Markavage

Paul Matthew Markavage passed away peacefully in the early morning of December 10, 2018; he was 92. Paul's wife Althea of 65 years passed away in May of 2018. Paul was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania on January 9, 1926. He worked on a farm before joining the Navy in 1944. After his military service he completed college on the GI bill at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. He then joined Graybar Electric beginning a very successful career in sales of commercial and industrial restaurant equipment and moved on to Hotpoint and General Electric. Paul married the love of his life, Althea Jean Egge and started their family in Richmond, VA. Business transferred Paul to Bethesda MD, Seattle, WA and finally to San Rafael, CA in 1964 where they settled and raised their family. Paul was many things to many people, a son, brother, husband, father, and PaPa. He will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family, enjoyment of sports and mostly his sense of humor.
>>> Paul is survived by his sister Marilyn Fitzgerald, his children, Paul and (Sue) Markavage, Peter and (Emily) Markavage, Sara and (Gene) Tolibas, Michael and (Lisa) Markavage, and nine grandchildren, Adam, Ellen, Alexis, Matthew, Nicholas, Sean, Jack, Jeffery, and Dana. The family will celebrate his life at a private mass in January 2019. Paul and Althea will receive a military committal at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, Ca.
