Michael George Tischenko

A long time resident of San Francisco and Orinda, California, Michael passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband for 60 years to his wife, Olga, beloved brother to Vladimir Tischenko, dedicated father to George and his wife, Mari Tischenko and to Natalia and her husband,Thomas Girlich, and cherished grandfather to Alexander Tischenko and Stephen and Katherine Girlich. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and many close friends as a generous, kind and gentle man.

The family wishes to express a deep gratitude to the staff at Atria, Lafayette and Hospice of the East Bay for their tender devotion to his every need.

Services will be held at the Holy VIrgin Russian Orthodox Cathedral, 6210 Geary Blvd., San Francisco. They will include a Panikhida on Thursday, December 17, 8:00pm and a Funeral Service on Friday, December 18, 10:00am. Burial to follow funeral services at the Serbian Cemetery, 1801 Hillside Blvd., Colma. Please send any memorial gifts to the church.
