Pleasant Hill, California
Martin Alan Giulieri passed away January 10, 2017 after a sudden battle against cancer. Marty was born in Walnut Creek on July 15, 1958. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High School. He lived in Concord, purchasing his first home in the late 70's and residing there up to the present. Marty worked as a painter for Contra Costa County for 27 years.
Marty filled his life with a love of the outdoors: going on regular hunting and fishing trips, and introduced his two sons to the better things in life. He held a deep love for his family and friends but never missed the opportunity to play a practical joke on any one of them leaving each person in his life with a comical 'Marty-moment'. Marty was the type of man who people could not help but adore--he lived with such a wholesome credo that his honesty and integrity was quickly noticed and appreciated by all. Those who were lucky enough to be graced with his presence during his lifetime never had a bad thing to say about him.
Marty is survived by his two sons: Dustin Martin Giulieri and Jesse Alan Giulieri, and his beloved grandson, DJ (Dustin Jesse Giuieri) and his cherished Labrador, CJ (named after the jeeps that he spent much of his lifetime rebuilding).
Marty was preceded in death by his father, Milton Giulieri. Other survivors include his mother, Jane Giulieri of Pleasant Hill, CA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Liane and Steve Camblin of Pleasant Hill, CA and Lorna and Gary Van Ackeren of Concord, CA; Nieces Samantha Camblin of Winters, CA and Kristen (Van Ackeren) Zelenbaba of Colorado Springs, CO; Nephews Maxwell Camblin of Pleasant Hill, CA and Erik Van Ackeren of Loomis, CA
His love for his family will forever be missed.
