Marguerite Pojanowski

Formerly of Packanack Lake Marguerite (Hoyas) Pojanowski, 92, died peacefully on November 23, 2009 in Martinez, California after a long battle with Alzheimer?s disease. Born on August 25, 1917 to the late Edouard and Juliette (Caffier) Hoyas in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she was a long time resident of New Jersey. Margot graduated from Central H.S. in Paterson in 1935 and continued her education at St. Joseph?s School of Nursing. As a devoted registered nurse, she served her community for many years at St. Joseph?s Hospital and Medical Center, in Paterson, NJ. Marguerite was proud of her French ancestry, passionate in her love of history and her home-state of New Jersey, and an inspirational gardener. Margot was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thaddeus C. Pojanowski, and her two sisters, Alice and Therese. She will be greatly missed by her two sons, Paul of Rockaway Township, NJ and Michael of Port Jervis, NY and her two daughters, Alicia of Clayton, CA and Thaddea of Oakland, CA; by their spouses; by seven grandchildren, Nichole of San Diego, CA, Erin of Chatham, NJ, Angela of Oceanside, CA, Bryan of Allentown, PA, Justine of Brooklyn, NY, Meghan of Longport, NJ and Larissa of Port Jervis, NY, a great grandson, Thomas of Allentown, PA and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in New Jersey on January 9, 2010. See "Service Schedule" for updates.
