Pleasant Hill, California
Loretta passed away peacefully at her home following a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was born and raised in Fruita, Colorado. Following her high school graduation she moved to Denver where she became a cosmetologist. She married Leslie Adams, the love of her life, on June 23, 1942 and went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation until her first daughter Pam was born in April 1946. The family moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1948 and her second daughter Linda was born in 1949. Over the next eleven years she was the ultimate homemaker devoting her life to her husband and raising her daughters. She was widowed October 18, 1960 when Leslie died unexpectedly. She eventually found happiness again with Bill Howard whom she married December 15, 1962. She led a full and active life with him and looked forward to the summers when the family would move out to Cuerna Verde in Rye, Colorado. Following Bill?s death in 1980 she moved to Phoenix where she lived and worked for many years. In 2001 she decided to move to northern California to be closer to her daughters. She settled into a lovely apartment in the Plaza Tower where she made many friends, enjoyed the gambling trips to Reno and played Bingo. Loretta had quite an artistic flair and throughout her life enjoyed interior decorating, drawing, singing and dancing. She was the ?ultimate? bargain shopper and loved reading!
Loretta is survived by her daughters, Pamela Adams Grey and husband, Al of Phoenix and Linda Adams Stepanek and husband Bill of Orinda; three grandchildren, Wendi Badgwell, Ashley Stepanek, and Drew and his wife Megan Stepanek; and one great grandchild, Lucky Kawika Badgwell.
