Leroy Joseph Urenda

Leroy was a lifelong resident of the Oakley, Brentwood area. He was the son of Jose and Isabel Urenda. Leroy attended Knightsen Grammar School, Liberty High School and he earned a bachelors degree in communications from Sacramento State University. Leroy joined the Army in 1969 and earned the Army Commendation Medal for his service in the Republic of Vietnam. Leroy joined the Knights of Columbus and participated in most of his adult life. Leroy taught school as a substitute teacher in the local schools. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Oakley. Leroy has been preceded in death by his sisters; Sandra Urenda, Anna Castanos and Evelyn Urenda. He is survived by his sister; Lala Schoeh, Elva Hernandez, Sylvia Franco, Wella Phelan, Belinda Krausse and Jobina and Isabel Urenda and several nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Leroy devoted his life to being a caring uncle and brother. He will be dearly missed. We love you Leroy.
