John Cardinale

John Cardinale Resident of Martinez John Cardinale, 47, passed away peacefully on March 20 after courageously battling cancer. John was born and raised in San Francisco, attended Sacred Heart High School (1983) and San Francisco State University (1989), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. He worked as a Bay Area sports writer and editor prior to his much-loved career in communications and marketing at Sonoma Raceway. John is survived by his wife of 18 years, Andrea Yezzi Cardinale, daughters Emma and Lauren, mother Anna Cardinale, sisters Debbie Cameron (Todd) and Rita Geraldi (Rick), nieces Jennifer, Nicola and Gianna, mother-in-law Elsa Yezzi, brother-in-law Paul Yezzi, aunt Dolores Parr and extended family. John received an abundance of support -- especially from ?John?s Army? -- and his family would like to pay tribute to two people who significantly eased the navigation of his devastating journey: Dr. Rishi Sawhney for his brilliance and determination, and Steve Page for his steadfast support and kindness. We have lost a man who inspired many with his upbeat attitude, unwavering spirit and passion for life. And although he took great pride in being labeled an inspiration, nothing surpassed John?s most cherished title: Dad.
