Bob passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 47 years, Jo Anne, standing by his side. Bob is survived by his wife, two sons and their wives; Robert, (Denna), Paul,(Corri), Sister Meredith McCormack, Sister-in-law, Lorie McKim, and grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Hannah, Kyle and Logan.
Bob was born and raised in Oakland, CA. After service in the US Air Force he joined the Elevator Union (local 8) and began work for BC Van Emon Elevators in San Francisco. He took ownership of the company shortly thereafter, and ran it successfully for many years before selling it and retiring from the trade in 2003.
In 1968 Bob met the love of his life, Jo Anne Goss, while sailing on San Francisco Bay. They got married and raised a family in Orinda, CA. Bob was the life of the party with his quick wit and great sense of humor. He could fix anything and was always ready to help a friend. He enjoyed; golf, motorcycles, local sports, home improvement, spending time with his family and friends and especially touring North America with Jo Anne in their RV. The family will be celebrating Bob's life in a private event. In lieu of flowers donation can be made in Bob's memory to Hospice of the East Bay, 3470 Buskirk Ave., Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.
