Eva Beata Tucker

–

Pleasant Hill, California

Eva Tucker passed away on May 12 (age 85) after recent hospitalizations. She was born Eva Li (later Lee) on August 27, i940 in war torn China. She recalled being in caves during bombings. Her father, Jenson Lee, was a graduate of George Washington University. He was a Nationalist General during WW II and the civil war that followed in China. Her grandfather had previously been in US and worked on railroads. Eva came to US at age 15 on a ship that included actor Glenn Ford.. She was a graduate of Lowell High School as was her close friend Susan Lee. She attended City College in San Francisco. Her surviving brother is Newton Li of Elkhorn CA and sister Nancy Li of Paris France. Four siblings predeceased her: Betty Chin, Frank Lee, Virginia Chang and Warren Lee. Eva's first marriage to David Lo was followed by births of Yvonne Lo (husband Chris Kennedy) and Shannon (wife Rachelle). Eva's grandchildren are Dylan and Ellie Lo. She married Thomas Tucker on July 3, 1978. The family resided in Union City for 19 years. Then Eva and Tom moved to the Pittsburg Marina area. She very much loved family and our miraculous world. Eva was a retired accountant/bookkeeper. She and hubby Tom frequently worked at election polling places. They traveled through all 50 states and abroad. She was an avid collector of trip related magnets, postcards, and created scrapbooks. She greatly enjoyed walks in Old Town Pittsburg and along its Marina. Eva had been to all homes & museums of US presidents as well as numerous art/history museums and National Parks. As they aged Eva and Tom continued to travel, and often went to movies and live shows. This was in spite of mobility, hearing and falling asleep difficulties. She was a huge 49er fan, despite knowing little of the details. She is greatly missed.
