Ethel Lilla Russell, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 17, 2013.

Ethel was born on January 11, 1926 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Thorvald and Olga Hauge. Ethel was the youngest of seven children. She is survived by her brother, Robert Hauge.

She met and fell in love with, James J. Russell, her brother's best friend. They were married on September 21, 1944. Her family included four daughters, Sandra, Linda, Nancy, Donna, five grand-children, Lisa, Johnny, Jamie, Jennifer, and Becky, and six great-children, Cheyenne, Sienna, Steven, Andy, Haley and Kaitlyn.

A long-time resident of Concord, CA., Ethel was a loving woman with a great sense of humor. Her family and friends will have fond memories of her fun-loving and compassionate attitude.

The family wishes to thank the excellent staff at The Kensington, Walnut Creek, for their loving care of Ethel.
