Edwin Jacinto Reyes, 82, longtime resident of Antioch, passed away on June 10, 2010. He was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico on Jan 30, 1928 to Jose and Engracia Reyes, the youngest of 9 children. He met his future wife, Gracia Maria Medina, in Pittsburg, CA and married her in Jimenez, Mexico on July 10, 1952. He served in the US Army in the Korean War as a medic, and upon discharge worked at US Steel, Shell Chemical and Hysol. He was a longtime member of YMI, St. Vincent De Paul and worked with Meals-On-Wheels and Hospice Care. He was preceded in death by his son Gregory Bryan Reyes. He was a friendly, warm-hearted man, deeply committed to his family and his faith. He loved music, dancing, politics, and the hottest chilies you could ever cook-up- a strange thing for a (non-Mexican) Puerto Rican! He embraced the computer age in later life, and could be found trying to connect with people all over the world. He will be deeply missed, not only by his family, but by all his friends who knew and loved him. Hasta Luego, Dad - you will always be in our hearts. Many thanks to Resolutions Hospice, Katy Texas, family and friends for their support and love.
