Donald Otto Lorz

Don passed away April 12, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home with his loving family in attendance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Bertha Lorz and brothers Larry and Ervin Jr.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joyce Lorz, children Don (Marya), Misty (Lynn), Walt (Stefanie) and grandchildren D.J., Tyler, Kelsie, Natalie and Max. Don is also survived by brothers Robert and Henry and sister Jeanette.

Don was born in Harvey, ND. After serving in the Army he settled in Concord., CA. He worked at the Chevron Richmond Refinery for 32 years before retiring in 1992. He was a farmer at heart and loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, gardening, walking his dogs and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by his family, his extended family and many wonderful friends and neighbors.

Services will be on Monday, April 20, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, 4000 Concord Blvd., Concord, CA. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the East Bay.
