Claire Pettit

Resident of Concord

Born in Kentfield, Ca. to Michael and Clara Foley, raised in Fairfax, Ca. with her step brother Charlie McShea and brother James Foley, all preceded her in death. Claire enjoyed horseback riding while growing up. She graduated from Mt Tamalpias High School, the class of 1946.

Claire enjoyed train trips to Santa Cruz beach and boardwalk or Capitola beach during the day and dancing at night. She later worked in San Francisco and met Orville Pettit while he was in the Air Force. They later married and moved to Concord in 1951, were she has been a resident since. She enjoyed camping and vacationing in Lake Tahoe with family and friends. Claire was a member of the Druids of California, the Mt. Diablo Circle # 170 for over 51 years. She is survived by: former husband of 35 years Orville Pettit; children: Linda, Wesley, and Clinton Pettit; grandchildren: Cody and Taylor Pettit, and Dillon Pettit. Claire was a loving mother, grandmother, and a caring, giving person who was always thinking of others. She will surely be missed by those who knew her.
