Charlotte Rangel

Charlotte (Espinosa) Rangel entered Heaven's Gate on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Kaiser Hospital in Walnut Creek, CA, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Charlotte was born on March 21, 1927, in Denver, CO. She moved to California in 1940, and has been a resident of Pleasant Hill, CA for 54 years. Charlotte was united in marriage to Louis "Todd" Rangel on June 19, 1951 in Reno, Nevada.

Charlotte was an active member of Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill, she enjoyed tending to her beautiful garden, and was especially known for her homemade cooking. The neighborhood children would come from all around for her fresh, cooked tortillas; and she welcomed every one of them. When her family was together, whether it was the holidays, a birthday, or even just a simple weekday meal, she was the happiest and valued those times with the ones she loved the most.

She is survived by her loving husband, Todd Rangel, of 64 years, and her children, Thomas Rangel, Raymond Rangel & wife Bonnie-Dee, and Kathy (Rangel) Allen & husband James Allen. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Joseph Rangel, Jennifer Rangel, Michelle Rangel, Johnelle Allen, Kelsey Rangel, Amanda Rangel, Samuel Allen, and Marlo Allen; and was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Noah, Ryder, and Liam.

Charlotte was one of eleven children born to Thomas and Paula (Guardo) Espinosa, in Delaugua, CO., and is survived by her sisters, Julia Trujillo, Louise Hernandez, and Jennie Solis; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws that loved her very much.

A Memorial Service and Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Christ the King Church, 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill CA.
The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers.
