Charles Boyd

–

Pleasant Hill, California

Charles Boyd, also known as Charlie, Chuck, Chuckles, Bubbie, Dad, Pops, & Grandpa Chainsaw was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on October 13, 1932 to Leonard Boyd and Neta (Lacy) Boyd. He was the oldest of four children - sisters, Mary (now residing in Missouri), Bonnie (now residing in Vacaville) and brother Dennis (now residing in Concord). He and his family moved to California when he was 9 years old eventually settling in Martinez. At 18 years old he married Alta (Bray) and had three children: Juaneta, Linda and Rodney, moving to Concord in 1955. They were married for 18 years. He worked for many years at Shell Oil Refinery in Martinez. He got his real estate license in 1965, and obtained his broker?s license in 1977, selling residential real estate in the Contra Costa County area. He and Belva (Reed) were married October 25, 1975 in Concord. Her daughter, Melissa, was a ?bonus daughter? to him. They had been married 36 years. He was a computer nerd, and proud of it. He taught himself the ins & outs of a computer, and how to rebuild it the three times it crashed. He was instrumental in helping many, many people become educated on how to use the computer. He is on You Tube under the name YourTownTube if you want to hear his words of wisdom. He enjoyed talking on Skype to loved ones & friends, and was generous in sending out all types of information if he had your e-mail address. He was born in the wrong era, loving everything there was about the western days, trading his ?horse? for his mid-life toy, a custom 2006 Harley Davidson Sportster and with his brother, Dennis, would take spins around town ? gray hair flying in the wind. In his younger, more agile years, he loved going to the Sierra Nevada Mountains and trying his hand at panning and dredging for gold. He just knew if he kept going that he would hit the Mother Lode some day. He had a very soft heart for the critters in his back yard. ?Blackfoot?, a squirrel, would come & eat right out of his hand. The blue jays would squawk their disapproval if there were no peanuts out for their lunch. He made sure all the birds had plenty of birdseed and enjoyed watching them out the kitchen window while he sat at his computer. His loving survivors include: Wife: Belva Daughters: Juaneta (Gary) Gramespacher, Linda (Mike) O?Connell, Missey (Bill) Wristen Son: Rodney (Vikki) Boyd Sisters: Mary (Marvin) West, Bonnie (Chuck, d.) Hildreth Brother: Dennis (Katie) Boyd He had 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins galore?.. He will be missed by many, replaced by no one.
